Lyrics
Verse 1
Christ the Lord is ris'n today,
Sons of men and angels say!
Raise your joys and triumphs high,
Sing, ye heav'ns and earth reply.
Vain the stone, the watch, the seal,
Christ hath burst the gates of hell:
Death in vain forbids His rise,
Christ hath opened paradise.
Death in vain forbids His rise,
Christ hath opened paradise.
Verse 2
Lives again our glorious King,
Where, O death, is now thy sting?
Once he died our Souls to save;
Where's thy vict'ry, boasting grave?
Soar we now where Christ hath led,
Foll'wing our exalted Head;
Made like Him, like Him we rise,
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies.
Made like Him, like Him we rise,
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies.
Verse 3
King of glory! Soul of bliss!
Everlasting life is this
Thee to know, Thy pow'r to prove,
Thus to sing, and thus to love.
Hail, the Lord of earth and heav'n!
Praise to Thee by both be giv'n!
Thee we greet triumphant now,
Hail the resurrection thou!
Thee we greet triumphant now,
Hail the resurrection thou!

Jesus Is Risen!
1Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the tomb. 2And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone, and sat upon it. 3And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 4The guards shook from fear of him and became like dead men. 5And the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. 6He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying. 7And go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you to Galilee. There you will see Him; behold, I have told you.”
8And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy, and ran to report to His disciples. 9And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Rejoice!” And they came up and took hold of His feet, and worshiped Him. 10Then Jesus *said to them, “Do not be afraid; go, bring word to My brothers to leave for Galilee, and there they will see Me.”
24But God raised Him from the dead, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.
14Shall I ransom them from the power of Sheol?
Shall I redeem them from death?
Death, where are your thorns?
Sheol, where is your sting?
Compassion will be hidden from My sight.
The Order of Resurrection
20But the fact is, Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. 21For since by a man death came, by a Man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 23But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming,
10that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; 11if somehow I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.
10so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
